8.1 Demonstrate the ability to measure using the architect’s scale, engineer’s scale,
and metric scale.
8.2 Select proper drawing scale.
and metric scale.
8.2 Select proper drawing scale.
Explanation:
Using the same pictures as a previous standard, I can yet again prove that I can properly scale things in AutoCAD. In addition to this you can see that I have scaled and dimensioned the entire Mother in Law Residence. The scales are indicated by the bright blue layer and the dark green layer, for the windows and doors.

Reflection:
I met this standard by scaling the 100 drawings Mr. Grummer gave us. I learned how to scale stuff in AutoCAD and have ingrained it into my head by now. To do this I had to be efficient and not slack off so that I could complete all 100 of the drawings on time. I was also able to scale the first floor plan for the house we made. I then had to use my knowledge of scaling on many more drawings that we made later in the year.
This standard has real-world application because an architect will need to know how big a building is and how much to scale it by and I now know this do to this standard. In order for an architect to build something, they need a scale to go by and that's where this unit comes in. When we scale drawings it is simply making a drawing small so that you can view the entire thing at once before you build it. Scaling will help us prepare for the real-world instead of just daily AutoCAD.
This standard has further inspired me to pursue more of my interests in architecture because of this very useful tool in this field. When I make a drawing in the real-world and it gets built, I want to see how my scale matches up and see actually how important scaling is. I also want to learn more information about architecture so that I can be more successful in the field that I choose to go into.
