This is the foundation plan for the Conner Residence. A foundation is one of the most important things because you can't build a house if there is something wrong below it or the whole thing will come crashing down. In this unit, like others, I was introduced to many other layers and how to use them. Some of these layers are: concrete, dimensions, note, hidden, footing, beam n column, and joist. Using all of these layers together I was able to create a foundation plan that was structurally sound and that would be able to support a home. Most of my time I was working on making the first wall, then offsetting it, and then copy/pasting notes and arrows all across the foundation plan. I also had to take the wall studs from the first floor plan and put them on top of the foundation plan, as a hidden layer, to see where everything would fall into place. During this unit especially, I had to use the ruler to get a lot of the measurements for the drawing. I did this so I could make it as accurately as possible to the original drawing. In addition, I used what I already had known from previous units to make all of this go quicker. This unit will help me further down the road because now I know the basic elements of a foundation plan.
